  2. Add ½ cup water + ½ tsp salt, let it boil, add 1 cup of Oats mix well without lumps.
  3. Keep it low flame and cook the oats. Since I have used instant oats it took around 2 to 3 mins to cook. If you are using any other oats varieties, cook till it turns soft and mushy. And also Increase the water quantity depends upon the Oats Quality. Once the oats are cooked well Switch off the stove.
  4. Heat a pan with 1 tsp ghee, add 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp black peppercorns, 10 cashews, curry leaves fry well till the cashew turns golden. Add this to the Pongal and mix well. Serve Pongal when it is Hot.
Oats Pongal will turn hard once it cools down so it is better to have it hot or You can add hot water to bring it back.
Adjust the water and cooking time according to the quality of the oats you use.
