Diwali Marundhu(Medicine) recipe, தீபாவளி லேகியம்  recipe with detailed step by step method with pictures. Benefits of Diwali Marundhu, How to make, How to consume, when to consume in detail. One soulful medicine could be taken a week before and after Diwali for easier digestion. Not only at the time of Diwali, but it is also good to have on normal days before any heavy meals. Also, very good பிரசவ லேகியம்(postpartum medicine) improves lactation. Everyone knows that Diwali Legiyam can make a week before Diwali and it is kept in pooja along with other Bakshanams. After the oil bath Diwali Legium can be consumed on an empty stomach. The unknown facts about the Legiyam are very good detox, and it clears the unwanted things from our body.  Very good medicine for heartburn, bad breathing, etc.

Diwali Legiyam in Tamil

தீபாவளி லேகியம் Ingredients in Tamil :

1 டீஸ்பூன் கொத்தமல்லி விதைகள், ¼ கப் வெல்லம் (நான் கருப்பட்டியைப் பயன்படுத்தினேன்), 2 தேக்கரண்டி சீரகம், 2 தேக்கரண்டி மிளகு, 1 அங்குல இலவங்கப்பட்டை, 2 ஏலக்காய், 1 டீஸ்பூன் உலர் இஞ்சி தூள், 5 நீண்ட மிளகு (கண்டதிபிலி), 1 டீஸ்பூன் ஓமாம் (அஜ்வைன்), 2 தேக்கரண்டி உலர் வேப்பம் பூ (வேப்பம் பூ), 4 தேதிகள், 10 திராட்சையும், 1 தேக்கரண்டி மாட்டு நெய்.

Homemade Diwali Legium/Deepavali Marunthu with detailed step by step pictures

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp coriander seeds,
  • ¼ cup jaggery(i used karupatti),
  • 2 tsp cumin seeds,
  • 2 tsp pepper,
  • 1-inch cinnamon,
  • 2 cardamom,
  • 1 tbsp dry ginger powder,
  • 5 Long Pepper(kandathippili),
  • 1 tbsp omam(ajwain),
  • 2 tsp dry neem flower(veppam poo),
  • 4 dates,
  • 10 raisins,
  • 1 tsp cow ghee.
Instructions
  1. Crush the kandathippili in a mortar pestle, add all the ingredients in mixie jar except, raisins, dates, ghee, dry ginger powder, ghee. Powder it into a fine powder
  2. Add the dry ginger powder, mix it, and sieve the ground powder.
  3. Grind the raisins & dates to a fine paste.
  4. Heat a Kadai add jaggery & 4 tbsp water, melt the jaggery.
  5. No need to bring the string consistency, just once the syrup becomes thick add the ground powder, ground dates paste, mix well.
  6. Stir continuously, once the mixture becomes thick and glossy. Switch off the flame.
  7. Finally, add a tsp ghee and let it cool down.

Diwali Marunthu

Crush the kandathippili(long pepper improve appetite) in a mortar pestle, because the knots will strike inside the blade while grinding. It is good to crush them and then powder it.

No need to crush very fine powder just crush it anyways we are going to powder it in mixie.

Diwali Legiyam Powder

add all the ingredients in the mixie jar except, raisins, dates, ghee, dry ginger powder, ghee. Powder it into a fine powder

Inji sukku legiyam

Add the dry ginger powder, mix it.

sieve the ground powder.

how to make Diwali legiyum

Grind the raisins & dates to a fine paste.

Diwali legiyum with karupatti

Heat a Kadai add jaggery & 4 tbsp water, melt the jaggery.

No need to bring the string consistency, just once the syrup becomes thick add the ground powder, ground dates paste, mix well.

Stir continuously, make sure that no lumps formed. Keep in low flame and make a thick paste.

Deepavali legium for digestion

Deepavali Legium is ready now.

How to make Deepavali Murunthu

once the mixture becomes thick and glossy. Switch off the flame.  Finally, add a tsp ghee and let it cool down.

Diwali Legiyam Ready

 

This Medicine stays good up to 3 to 4 months at room temperature. 

Dosage: A small Ball

Whom can consume: above 5 yrs

 When: on an empty stomach.
