Jeera Rasam

May 20, 2010 by Premalatha Aravindhan 18 Comments

Ingredients:
3tsp Jeera
1tsp Pepper
1 sprig curry leaves
1 cup thick tamarind juice
1 tomato chopped
2 green chilli
1 tsp mustard seeds

1 tsp oil

1/3 tsp turmeric powder.

Method:

Prepare the rasam powder by grinding the jeera, pepper and curry leaves.Grind it coursely, not so powdered.I grinded it using the manual grinder.Add jeera as much as you want, that give you more flavour.

Heat the oil, add mustard seeds, when it starts cracking add the tomato and green chilli.Add the tamarind juice, tumeric powder and salt.Add 2 cups water.Once it started foaming add the rasam powder and remove it from the stove.Granish it with fresh coriender leaves.Serve it as soup or with rice.It is very good for digestion.

Iam sending this to CWS-Cumin Seeds event hosted by Sara and Priya
