This recipe is very famous in Thanjavur district.It can be served with chappathi, idly, dosa.I should thank my mom for introducing this scrumptious gravy.Because whenever i prepare dosa/chappathi am bit confused about the gravy always.Then my mom
suggested this gravy.Try this with kal dosai/idly.
Moong Dhal 1 cup
turmeric 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon stick 1(small)
Chopped onion 1/2 cup
Chopped tomatoes 1/2 cup
Chopped Garlic 1 tsp
Curry leaves 1 sprig
Green chilly 2-3
Oil 2 tsp
Coconut milk 4 tsp
Salt to taste
Method of Preparation:
Pressure cook the dhall and potato(cut into medium pieces)
Heat the pan and drop oil in it.
Fry the cinnamon stick,cloves and then add the chopped onion,tomatoes,green chilly,curry leaves,garlic into it.
Now add the Dhal ,turmeric and potatoes in to the pan
Add coconut milk into the dhal and then add salt.
Cover with lid and cook for 3 mins
Now the kadhappa is ready to serve.
