Melt in Mouth Banana Rava Kesari, banana Kesari bath the traditional South Indian sweet dish made with semolina, mashed banana, and sugar.

  • 1 cup fine sooji/rava/ semolina
  • ½ cup banana mashed
  • ¾ cup sugar or as required
  • 2 tablespoon ghee + 1 tsp
  • 2.5 cups water
  • cashews, raisins, cloves
  • 3-4 green cardamoms powdered
  1. Heat ghee in a thick bottomed pan, add cashews, raisins & cloves roast till golden.
  2. Add the sooji or rava and fry till they change color and you get fragrant.
  3. add 2.5 cups of water &mashed banana, let it boil.
  4. Add cardamom powder, sugar & continue to stir. keep cover for few minutes or until rave cooks completely.
  5. After 1 or 2 minutes, add ghee & roasted cashews, mix well.
  6. Serve the banana Kesari hot, warm or cold.
1. Water ratio is very important so add 2.5 cups of water for 1 cup of Rava.
2. you can add a mashed banana or ground banana.
3. I have used ½ cup of banana puree and 3/2 cup sugar. You can reduce the sugar also. adjust according to your tastebuds.
4. use well ripen bananas
