Onion Samosa recipe is made with onion Poha stuffing and made of Homemade Patti/pastry sheets.

Ingredients
  • For Pastry sheets/Patti:
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • ½ cup Maida
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • a pinch salt
  • water(approximately 1 cup)
  • For Stuffing:
  • 1 cup thinly sliced onion
  • ½ cup poha/flattened rice/Aval
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • ⅓ tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • ⅓ cup coriander powder
  • salt as needed
  • Other ingredients;
  • oil for frying
  • 1 tbsp maida and 1 tbsp water(maida paste)
Instructions
  1. Firstly make samosa Patti | pastry sheets, Take a cup of Wheat flour, ½ cup maida, a pinch salt mix well. Add a tbsp of Oil and crumble the flour using your hands. Add water little by little start kneading the dough to a soft pliable dough. Rest it for 30mins to get perfect Patti/Pastry.
  2. After 30 mins divide the dough into equal parts and roll like small flatten balls. Make small puris out of the balls. take a pori drop ½ tsp oil and spread all over the pori. Sprinkle wheat flour and then place one more pori on top of it and start making thin chapathi. Roll as much as thin as possible.
  3. Heat a tawa and then roast the Patti sheets. Once they started bubbling flip and roast the other side. Don't keep for long. no need to brown it. make all the pastry sheets the same way. Let it cool down for some time and then slowly separate the sheets. Trim the edges and make it a square. cut in the middle and cut rectangle shaped lengthy sheets. check video if you want to see more detail. Now the Samosa Patti/Pastry is ready to make Triangle Samosa.
  4. Onion Somasa recipe with poha Let's make Onion Poha Stuffing for Onion Samosa, Take thin sliced onion 1 cup, ½ cup poha/flattened rice, 1 tsp chili powder, ½ tsp cumin powder, ⅓ tsp garam masala, ⅓ cup coriander leaves(cilantro) and salt. Mix everything well and make the stuffing ready. Take a small bowl mix a tbsp of maida with 2 tbsp of water without lumps. This mix is for sealing the edges of the samosa. Let's start shaping the samosa, Take a pastry sheet/Patti and roll like a cone. Stuff the onion poha stuffing mix inside it.
  5. Crispy Onion Samosa RecipeClose the other edge and apply maida paste around the corners and seal the edges. Prepare the same way for all the samosa. Triangle samosa is ready for frying now. Heat oil in a pan and drop samosa slowly and fry the samosa in medium flame. Once it becomes crispy and golden brown remove from oil. Onion Samosa, Triangle Samosa is ready.
Notes
1. we will get 30 pastry sheets for this measurements, you can use few sheets and store the rest of sheets in a air tight box inside the fridge. It will stay upto a month also.
2. You can add boiled potatoes. with the onion stuffing to make it more tasty
3. always fry in medium flame for equal frying.
4. if you want samose to be more crispy you can add a tsp of rice flour while making the pastry sheets.
