Oats Pongal Recipe, Oats Ven Pongal without rice, Easy Instant Quaker Oats Recipes, Authentic Ven Pongal made with Instant Quaker Oats without rice, And quick and easy breakfast, Indian Oats recipes. Oats Pongal Served with Coconut Chutney and Tiffin Sambar is a complete breakfast. Wheat Rava Pongal is another healthy Pongal recipe. Oats Pongal helps to reduce weight and it is a low-calorie breakfast. I have used very little ghee to make this ven Pongal, it will help you lose weight. If you are looking for any Indian oats recipes, this Oats Pongal is a very good choice.

What is Oats Pongal?

Oats Pongal made with the Combo of Moong dal and Instant oats. You may Call it Oats khichdi, whatever it is, a healthy dish not only for weight reduction, it is a protein-loaded dish to start the day. 

Many of you were looking for a low-calorie dinner. This oat Pongal is very good for dinner too. Oats are rich in fiber that will help avoid hunger pangs at night

To make this Oats Pongal I have used Quaker Oats which is very easy to cook within 5 mins. You can use any type of oats as per your choice.  

We Can Have Oats Pongal For Dinner???

The fiber content of oatmeal can also aid the digestive system. Oatmeal itself can help you lose weight because it will help you feel full longer than other foods. So it is good to have it for dinner too.

How Oats Helps Us to Weight loss???
Overnight oats are also more digestible. This means you absorb more nutrition from your food! Research has shown that a daily intake of healthy carbs like oats is connected with greater energy levels, improved mood, and weight loss.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup oats
  • ¼ cups of moong dal
  • water ¼ + ½ cup
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ghee,
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds,
  • 1 tsp black peppercorns,
  • 10 cashews,
  • curry leaves
Instructions
  1. Take ¼ cup Moong dal wash and Pressure cook along with ½ cup of water. Once cooked, mash it.
  2. Add ½ cup water + ½ tsp salt, let it boil, add 1 cup of Oats mix well without lumps.
  3. Keep it low flame and cook the oats. Since I have used instant oats it took around 2 to 3 mins to cook. If you are using any other oats varieties, cook till it turns soft and mushy. And also Increase the water quantity depends upon the Oats Quality. Once the oats are cooked well Switch off the stove.
  4. Heat a pan with 1 tsp ghee, add 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp black peppercorns, 10 cashews, curry leaves fry well till the cashew turns golden. Add this to the Pongal and mix well. Serve Pongal when it is Hot.
Notes
Oats Pongal will turn hard once it cools down so it is better to have it hot or You can add hot water to bring it back.
Adjust the water and cooking time according to the quality of the oats you use.

Oats Pongal recipe, How to make Oats Ven Pongal, Step by Step Recipe:

Oats Pongal Preparation Step 1

Step: 1 Take ¼ cup Moong dal wash and Pressure cook along with ½ cup of water. Once cooked, mash it. Add ½ cup water + ½ tsp salt, let it boil.

Oats Pongal Preparation Step 2

Step: 2 add 1 cup of Oats mix well without lumps. Keep it low flame and cook the oats. Since I have used instant oats it took around 2 to 3 mins to cook. If you are using any other oats varieties, cook till it turns soft and mushy. And also Increase the water quantity depends upon the Oats Quality. Once the oats are cooked well Switch off the stove.

Step: 3 Add this to the Pongal and mix well. Serve Pongal when it is Hot.
