- 1 cup of thick idly batter
- ½ cup grated coconut(Thuruvina Thengai),
- ½ cup grated jaggery(vellam)
- ½ cup chana dal(kadalai paruppu)
- Elachi(Pooranam for the filling)
- coconut oil for frying.
- Take chana dal and soak it for 1 hour
- drain the water completely and then add it to the mixie jar
- add grated coconut, jaggery, and cardamom powder, grind it to a smooth paste.
- Make balls out of the chana dal Purnam
- Heat oil(low to medium) and then drop the purnam in the idli batter, coat well.
- and then drop it in the suzhiyam in the hot oil.
- Turn both sides and fry well.
- once it started to golden remove from stove.
- Suzhiyam is ready to serve.
don't add water while grinding otherwise the batter will start melting.
