Fried Onions Recipe

Fried Onions Recipe, Crispy Golden Brown Fried Onions recipe with step by step Pictures and Video. Crispy Golden Brown Fried Onions are made by deep frying the Sliced onions and it can be used for Garnishing the food items like Biryani and Pulao. Without Fried Onions, Biryani the recipe is not Complete.  Fried onions in the can are very familiar that you can find in stores are very crispy and that can store for long but if we make fried onions at home some time it becomes burnt or soft so I thought to update a post here to overcome those difficulties.

Do remember few things while making the Fried onions for Biryani or any other garnishing,

1. slice the onions evenly(so that it will cook evenly)

2. fry them in medium flame(high flame leads to burning of the onion)

3. Sprinkling corn flour or rice flour over the onion will help to stay crispy for long

4. fry them in batches if you are making in bulk.

5. once it becomes golden brown remove it from the flame(don’t burn it)

Fried Onions Recipe

Fried Onions Recipe is very simple we can make and store it. It will stay for almost a month at room temperature. Whenever we make biryani or pulao we can use it. In Some Fried Rice Recipes, they call for Fried onions also. For making Fried Onions you can use White onions if you get or use any onions.

Easy Fried onions Recipe | Golden Brown Fried Onions Recipe | Fried Onions for Biryani

Ingredients
  • 1 cup White onions or Red Onions
  • 250 g Oil
  • 1 tsp cornflour or rice flour
Instructions
  1. Wash and peel the onion and then slice it thinly.Slice it evenly so that it will cook properly.
  2. Sprinkle corn flour over the sliced onions, toss it keep aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, once it becomes hot start adding the sliced onions.
  4. Keep turning the onions to avoid burning and even colouring.
  5. Once it turns golden brown remove it from the oil and keep in the kitchen towel to drain the oil.
  6. Fried onions are ready for Garnishing
