AVAL (POHA) KESARI RECIPE | EASY SWEET RECIPES

Aval Kesari
Happy New Year To ALL!!! This is my first post of this year,lets start it with a delicious sweet.Aval Kesari is one of the easiest Kesari Recipe that could be prepared for Gokulashtami | Janmashtami and also for Navratri  and it is one of the easy sweets recipe that can me made within less time.I have already posted few kesari recipes like Rava Kesari,Pine apple Kesari and Semiya Rava Kesari .Kesari is the only south Indian dessert which can made almost for all the occasions.I came to know this recipe after marriage which my mil use to make it for Gokulashtami. Whenever the sudden guest visiting our house we will prepare this kesari instead the usual kesari.

AVAL (POHA) KESARI RECIPE | EASY NAVRATRI SWEET RECIPES

Ingredients:Aval Kesari

  • 1 cup Aval(Poha)(I used thin white variety)
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 10 Cashews
  • 10 Raisins
  • 3 tbsp Ghee
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • A Pinch cardamom  powder
  • A small pinch Orange Food Color


Method:

Aval Kesari

  • Dry roast the Aval in medium heat and then add it in the mixie jar.
  • Powder it coarsely like rava,just give one pulse is enough.
  • Add ghee and fry the cashews and raising and take it out.

Aval Kesari

  • Now make the sugar syrup by boiling the sugar and water.
  • once the sugar started thick add the food colour,cardamom powder and mix well.

Aval Kesari

  • Now add in the powdered aval,cover and cook well.
  • Add the ghee and cover the aval kesari with lid for a while so that we will get nice kesari consistency.
  • Once done add the cashews and raisins mix well. serve hot kesari.

My Notes:
1. Water level is very important so add little water and then make the sugar syrup.If you add more water then you will not get the kesari consistency.
2. Don’t powder the aval into fine powder,just give one pulse is enough.
