I am writing my 250th post
Here i shared the recipe for Fig Halwa, usually most of the fig halwa recipes calls for condensed milk and i want a twist in usual version,so i made my own version of halwa. My family and friends enjoyed this halwa.Do try and let me know how is it
Ingredients:
3/4 cup Maida / All Purpose Flour
2 and 1/2 cups sugar
3 and 1/2 cups water
A Pinch Brown food colour(optional)
1 cup ghee
1/2 cup nuts(chopped)
1/3 tsp cardamom Powder
200g Fig(24 nos,anjeer)
Method:
Wash and soak the fig in water for about 1 hour. This ensures easy grinding of figs.Grind the fig into fine paste without water and keep aside.Meanwhile heat a tbsp of ghee in a pan and roast the chopped nut on it.
Mix flour, sugar and water in a mixing bowl and blend well without any lumps.Add food colour if desired.
Add this flour mixture in a non stick kadai and stir for few minutes, after that add the grinded fig paste and mix well.Stir in for few minutes until the fig paste blends well.Add cardamom powder and keep stirring for the next 20 minutes over low flame. Add roasted nuts at this stage.
Add remaining ghee and mix well. About in next 15 minutes,it will change its colour to darker shades of brown, get more shinny. Switch off the stove. If you want it in small squares, then grease a plate or tray with some ghee and spread the mixture and press.Decorate by adding some more of the chopped nuts.Once cooled cut them into small squares.
I can’t wait until it cool down,so tasted this hot halwa in a bowl
This is my fav combo, always have halwa with mixture or ompodi
Have a Nice Day!!!
