Spiced Cumin and chickpeas rice

Ingredients:
250 g chickpeas,soaked for 6 hours

2 tsp cumin seeds
500 g basmati rice
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
3 chopped onions
100 g ghee or oil
500 ml water
200 ml thick coconut milk
salt to taste

Method:

Pressure cook  the chickpeas until half cooked,keep aside.Wash the rice,drain and set aside.Heat the ghee or oil in a rice cooker,add jeera,onion and ginger garlic paste, let it cook for 5 mins.Add water,rice,coconut milk,chickpeas,turmeric powder and salt to taste.Leave rice to cook.Spiced cumin and chickpeas rice is ready to serve.

    never used chick pea in rice.. would taste good with coconut milk..
