Potato Briyani Recipe | Simple and tasty Potato Briyani | Easy Lunch Box Recipe for kids

     I Love all kinds of Briyani.I used to make Briyani using Beans,Carrot and usual veggies. I tried this using baby Potato,Since my daughter like baby Potato very much. It is different from normal Vegetable Briyani.sure Kids Love It…   


Ingredients:

Basmati rice – 1 cup
Water – 1 and 1/2 cup
Oil – 1 tsp
Cloves –2-3
Bay leaves -1
Cinnamon sticks –1 inch
Cardamom – 2 (whole)
Green chillies – 2 (finely chopped, add more if you want more spice)
Ginger-Garlic paste – 1 tsp
Mixed vegetables – 1 cup (optional)
Baby Potato-100g
Chilly powder-1 tsp
Plain curd/yoghurt – 2 tsp
Gram Masala powder – 2 tsp
Onions 2 ,sliced
Tomato 100g

Salt – as required

Method:

1.Wash potato and boil it,till it becomes soft and peel the skin,keep aside..
2.Heat oil in a pan. Add cloves, cinnamon sticks, bay leaves and cardamom
and fry it.
3. Add chillies, Tomatoes and onion and fry till onion turns brown in colour.
4. Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for another few mins.
5.Add mixed vegetables(optional),Potato and salt. Cook well.

6.Add garam masala,chilli powder and curd and fry till raw smell goes
7.Now add basmati rice and mix well.If you want you can add ghee at this stage.
8.Pour this entire mixture into the rice cooker and add water.
9.Mix well and check for salt/spice. Avoid chillies if it is especially for kids.
10.Cook until rice is done.

Here is our briyani is ready.Serve with onion/tomato raita.
